BRANDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say they are investigating the separate deaths of two elderly Oakland County residents who suffered from dementia and were found outside.
The Detroit Free Press reports (http://on.freep.com/WFtjUk ) Friday that autopsies are being performed on an 83-year-old woman found in Brandon Township and a 75-year-old man in Farmington Hills.
Officials say the woman wandered away from her home and her body was found outside of a neighbor's house. The man was discovered about 150 yards away from his home.

This sad situation occurred in our area, too, in past years. Some occurred in winter, others in the warmer months. One lady wasn't found in her car until the corn picker found her car out in the high corn. Another lady walked away from her car and disappeared. She was found several months later when the snow drifts melted. Dementia patients can be difficult to deal with. But, we are our brothers' and sisters' (neighbors') keepers. But for the grace of God, go you or I!
