A Grand Ledge teacher and swim coach was arraigned Monday on three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree and five counts in the Third Degree.
Jason Robert Algra, taught science at Grand Ledge High School and also coached the swim team until October 2011. He is accused of having sex with a current student and a former student. Both of the alleged victims are males.
Investigators say the alleged incidents occured between April and October, last year.
In a release from Grand Ledge Public Schools, it says the district first learned of the allegations last October and Algra was immediately placed on administrative leave and forbidden to have contact with any Grand Ledge Schools students or staff.
Algra was arraigned Monday in Eaton County District Court. Bond was set at $250,000 with conditions that he not have any contact with minors.
