Capitol Office Building to have Restaurant Again

LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- A Lansing office building for lawmakers, staff and the public will have a restaurant again this spring.

The Michigan Bureau of Services for Blind Persons and the Michigan Restaurant Association are partnering to run the new Cora's Cafe inside the House Office Building near the Capitol building. The eatery will be named for Cora Reynolds Anderson, who served as the first woman and Native American in the Michigan House of Representatives in 1925 and 1926.

The building has been without a cafeteria for more than a year.

The plan is to train blind people in food service and provide customers an array of food offerings from local businesses.
