ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) -- A 5-year-old southeast Michigan boy has died after his grandfather found him inside an unlocked car.
WXYZ-TV reports Sunday that the boy was visiting his grandparents in Romulus, southwest of Detroit, when they initially couldn't find him.
The child was found unresponsive Saturday evening and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police say it appears he wandered into the car. It was not immediately known how long he was in the car. Saturday's high temperature was about 86 degrees.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
