DETROIT (AP) -- Authorities say a teenager wounded during the attempted robbery of a Detroit high school girls' basketball coach is being tried as an adult.

The 15-year-old was told at a hearing Saturday that he faces one count each of armed robbery and assault with intent to rob while armed. He is scheduled to appear before a judge on March 1 and is being detained at a juvenile detention facility on a $50,000 bond.

Prosecutors say the boy and 16-year-old Michael Scott accosted 70-year-old Ernest Robinson Feb. 1 while he was walking outside Martin Luther King High School with two of his players. Authorities say Robinson fatally shot Scott and wounded the other teen.

Authorities said this week that Robinson acted in self-defense and won't be charged. He's a reserve police officer.
