The Lansing Board of Water & Light says customers who experienced an electric outage for 120 hours (five days) due to the December 22 ice storm are eligible for a $25 credit. They can also get an additional $5 per day if they were out even longer.
Eligible customers will have the outage credit applied to their bills.
Once the credit form is submitted and approved, customers can expect to see the credit applied to their next billing statement if the form is received withing 15 days of when their next bill is printed.
The credit form can be found at the top of the BWL website (www.lbwl.com) by clicking on the button labeled, “Apply for Catastrophic Storm Outage Credit.”
Customers may submit the completed form online, or download the form and mail or email the completed form to the BWL. For customers without Internet access, they can call the Customer Service Center at 517-702-6006 to have the formed mailed, or pick up a form at the Customer Service Center located at 1232 Haco Dr., Lansing. Customers can contact the BWL with any questions regarding the outage credit at 517-702-6006, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm.
