SHERMAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say a Michigan state trooper was shot during a traffic stop in western Michigan, and one person was in custody.
Oceana County Sheriff Bob Farber told MLive.com that the trooper was shot. WOOD-TV says it happened Monday evening in Mason County's Sherman Township, northeast of Ludington.
Oceana sheriff's Lt. Craig Mast says one person was arrested in the shooting.
The Mason County and Oceana County sheriff's departments and state police told The Associated Press that no information was available Monday night.
WJR-AM says the trooper was airlifted to a hospital, where his condition was unknown.
