TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) -- The wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is calling on supporters in northern Michigan to turn out the vote on election day.
Ann Romney made a stop in Traverse City to rally the faithful Monday. She tells a cheering audience her husband will carry Michigan, where polls have shown Obama ahead but Romney within striking distance.
Appearing with her were U.S. Rep. Dan Benishek and state Attorney General Bill Schuette.
Romney planned to attend an event in Grand Rapids later in the day. She and her husband are Michigan natives.
She was in Detroit on Sunday night to watch Game 4 of the World Series, where the San Francisco Giants completed their sweep of the Tigers.
