Accident Shuts Down Very Busy Intersection

LANSING TOWNSHIP - A serious accident shuts down one of the Lansing area's busiest intersections. The accident happened at about 2:30pm at the intersection of Grand River Avenue and Homer Street, just north for the Frandor shopping center. A cement truck, traveling north on Homer Street collided with a car on Grand River Avenue. Lansing Township Police are not saying anything about the nature of the accident, or whether anyone has been injured.. The cement truck driver tells us there were people in the car who were taken to the hospital. The driver was not hurt. Grand River Avenue, over US-127 is shut down. Because that intersection connects to ramps on and off US-127, traffic has been severely slowed. Police says they expect the intersection to be closed possibly until 5 o'clock, while investigators do their work.
UPDATE: The intersection was reopened just before 6PM.
