Friday, Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III, filed charges against 48-year-old Paul David Gibbs for the murder of his former girlfriend, 35-year-old Tammie DuBay. DuBay was reported missing in July, and her body was found a day later off Cornell Road in Meridian Township.
A medical examiner determined DuBay had been strangled to death. DuBay was a paraplegic, and wheelchair bound. She also leaves behind a seven-year-old daughter.
Gibbs is currently in a Jackson prison, due to a parole violation. He's expected to be arraigned next week. If convicted, Gibbs would serve life in prison without the possibility of parole.
