The online sex offender registry is not the only way to keep tabs of sex offenders. Officials from the Michigan Department of Corrections say their Web site may also be helpful.

Residents are concerned they will no longer be able to track sex offenders. A federal court ruling last week pulled the plug on the online registry. It claimed the website was unconstitutional.

Officials from the MDOC say there tracking website called OTIS or Offender Tracking Information System can help victims and non-victims. The only drawback is there is no current addresses for paroles or prisoners.

People can assess their release date, types of crimes committed, and other types of information.
