The Michigan Department of Treasury released the 2002 math and science MEAP scores for 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th grade students.
A department spokesman call the scores overall a nice showing by the students.
In elementary and middle school at least 25 percent exceeded state standards, and in Science at least 15 percent exceeded Michigan standards.
The Department of Treasury hopes to release high school science, high school math and social studies scores in October.
