CALEDONIA, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say three people were killed and a baby was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in western Michigan.
The Grand Rapids Press and WOOD-TV are reporting that a sport utility vehicle struck a car pulling out of a private drive Friday afternoon in Caledonia Township, a community about 20 miles southeast of Grand Rapids.
The crash caused the SUV to roll over and catch fire. A passer-by used a towing strap to pry the car from the burning SUV.
Three people in the car were killed. Police identified them as 53-year-old Sindi King of Alto and 71-year-olds Robert and Shirliann Schimming of Lehi, Utah. The 8-month-old child, Neveah Spicer, was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
Police say two teenagers in the SUV suffered injuries that weren't life threatening.
