This week, about 40,000 students will be descending on Michigan State University's campus. The now quiet campus will soon be overflowing with students moving to East Lansing.
Local businesses say they have been preparing for the students by stocking up on supplies, hiring more staff and making renovations.
Business owners say they are looking forward to the students' return not only because they bring better business, but because they make East Lansing a livelier city.
The freshman class will be arriving Wednesday and classes start for everyone on August 30.
