Voters continue to give Gov. Jennifer Granholm high marks in a new poll released Thursday.

Sixty-five percent of the 600 likely Michigan voters polled Aug. 4 to Tuesday by Lansing-based EPIC/MRA said they had a favorable opinion of the Democratic governor, while 28 percent had an unfavorable opinion and 7 percent were undecided.

That's about even with an early July EPIC/MRA poll that showed 63 percent had a favorable opinion and 29 percent had an unfavorable one. The margin of error in both polls was plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Granholm also got high marks for the job she's doing as governor, with 63 percent giving her a positive job rating, 35 percent a negative rating and 2 percent undecided. Those numbers are slightly higher than the July poll in which 60 percent gave her an excellent or pretty good job rating, while 38 percent gave her a rating of just fair or poor.
