NBC's "Today" show will expand to a fourth hour starting Sept. 10.
The announcement Tuesday nails down a start date for the program's expansion, which was announced months ago. The new hour will be co-hosted by "Today" news anchor Ann Curry, national correspondent Natalie Morales and correspondent Hoda Kotb.
WILX will air the first two hours of "Today" from 7AM to 9AM. "LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY" will air from 9AM to 10AM. A new talk program, "The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet" will be added to the WILX lineup at 10AM. Then the final two hours of the expanded "Today" show will air immediately following from 11AM to 1PM.
"Today" co-anchors Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira will not routinely be part of the added hour.
After decades as a two-hour program, the highly profitable, ratings-leading "Today" expanded to three hours in 2000.
