A 33-year-old man from Holt is facing child pornography charges. Ingham county sheriff's deputies arrested James Ranshaw today.

They say his wife gave them access to the computer where he stored the porn.

Ranshaw is charged with four counts of possession of child pornography and one count of using a computer to commit a felony.

Does anyone know when there will be more information on this case? A trial or whatever they are going to do. Is there a website where more information is available?

Honestly Guys, this isn't the place for arguing about wither the person in question is innocent or guilty. He'll either be proven guilty by a Jury of his peers or be proven innocent. Also blaming the former wife of the man also doesn't help, even if she is mentally ill, what proof do you have she did it herself? What proof do you have that he didn't do it, or that he did do it? Honestly IF you really cared, you wouldn't be here, you'd be supporting that man where ever he is, since it's your belief that he is innocent.

To your so sure of yourself...Anonymous... There's a few "key words" you didn't grasp or chose to ignore; "untold part" and "deceit" And I quote: "O.K. people, lets look at this in the proper way. He is innocent until proven guilty, that's the way things work. last of all to Pam from alma...If you found such items on your husbands computer, would you turn him in? If not, you're just as guilty as he is...just some food for thought". [innocent until proven guilty][your just as guilty as he is] Your not a fool, this is just your version of how things work. Child pornography is dispicable. What I wouldn't do is knowing be deceitful with Law enforcement, a Judge and the Public. Most of us are familiar with a game, (dirty or clean)known as "it's who you know". It's a disgrace, to say the least, to see Good People blindly manipulated for reasons of selfish revenge.

This story has nothing to do with revenge or a divorce. This is about the children. Who will speak for the them? There has to be sufficient evidence for the police to take someone into custody. They don't just do that on a whim. People who are not involved in this couple's life on a daily basis (including family members) should not be pointing fingers or passing judgment on either of them. The truth will come out and everyone will need to make an apology for dragging an innocent woman through the mud. No wife/mother should ever have to make this kind of decision about a husband. She did the right thing to protect her children and every child on that computer. Shame you say? Shame on all the people who are not seeing the real problem at hand. As far as I'm concerned, she is the only one who has stepped up to the plate "Pam". I support her 100% as every mother who loves her children should. By the way “Chip” from Eaton Rapids, I have known these people for twenty years.

To L. Snider:GET A LIFE!!!. This is exactly the type of "ready to convict" attitude that is ruining society today. You have nothing better to do than believe everything you hear, without knowing the people involved. You need to stop floating in the toilet bowl because sooner or later someone will push the flush lever!! Get a hobby. This is a good man we are talking about, the woman has had mental issues for years. You'll find that she will be facing charges soon, rather than him.

O.k. people, lets look at this in the proper way. Who's computer was the porn on??? He is innocent until proven guilty, that's the way things work...but remember this, He is being charged with child pornography, not being a bad husband! I understand that some of you are family or friends of the accused, but would you still have these feelings if it were some random person you had never met? I think all of you who shift blame to Jimmy's ex need to build a bridge and get over it! The truth will come out, whatever it may be, But dont be so ignorant to not even entertain the idea that maybe he is guilty...to omit the possibility makes every one of you look like fools. last of all to Pam from alma...If you found such items on your husbands computer, would you turn him in? If not, you're just as guilty as he is....just some food for thought...

There's an untold part to this story. Clearly, this deceit will play on her conscience daily and cast negative energy around the children for years to come. Grow up and stop the "poor me" dramatics. Ugliness has gone to it's Zenith in this case. Step up to the plate. Everyone deserves to know the truth. Think!..Who's hurting the most from this deceitful game?

I don't understand why no one is thanking this woman for protecting not only her own children but other children in and around her community. We should be thanking her for coming forward and letting the authorities know what this man was doing. Apparently it was his computer. Why aren't his friends asking him why he had the child porn on his computer instead of attacking a innocent woman who is protecting her and the communities children?

Will they press charges against the wife if the guy is found not guilty? After all, they did 'find' child porn on the computer and through the process of elimination she would be 'guilty' of having possession of it.
