As many as nine teachers in the Albion Public School District can now be laid off.
The board passed a resolution last night, that will allow it to pinkslip teachers if need be.
School board members say they're not happy about layoffs, and will only issue pinkslips if there is a change in funding between now and the end of the school year.
The superintendent says the district needs to save about $700,000 for the next school year, and cutting programs is not an option.
