Delhi Township firefighters responded to a 1 p.m. structure fire call on Friday. The structure was the Bush Supply Company, a family owned business located on a dairy farm.
Delhi Fire Chief Richard Royston says when they arrived the warehouse portion of the building was on fire filled with smoke. He also says the steel make-up of the building kept the fire hot and burning quickly.
Adding to the problem was the fact that the nearest fire hydrant was a mile away from the scene. Several other fire agencies shipped water to help douse the flames.
In the end, the building was a total loss. Co-owner Mary Douglas says the building and business was insured, and they hope to rebuild.
Fire officials say it may be sometime before they know what caused the blaze.
