Steven Spielberg's new animated motion picture will feature the sight and sounds of a local steam locomotive.

Owosso's Pere Marquette No.1225 steam locomotive will be used in the animated film Polar Express.

On Tuesday, sound crews recorded the bells and whistles, and well as other sounds from the largest steam locomotive of its kind. Its image will also be digitized in the movie.

The 63-year-old train weighs 400 tons. The film starring Tom Hanks is based on the children's classic book named Polar Express. The film is set to debut this November.
