Facing the music, a cable TV producer for a Detroit suburb has pleaded no contest to charges of using publicly owned equipment to make and sell polka party videodiscs.
Fred DeChausse was arrested last month after selling 11 DVDs to an undercover officer for $150. The city of Warren sells DVDs of "Polka Party" and other programs produced for its public cable channel to residents for $20 apiece.
Macomb County District Judge Stephen Sierawski on Monday ordered the 71-year-old DeChausse to serve 18 months of nonreporting probation and pay $600 in restitution and fines.
Defense lawyer Leon Weiss told the judge that his client feels "great remorse" over the incident.
DeChausse, a cable specialist with the city for 13 years, remains suspended without pay from his $63,156-a-year job.
