EAST LANSING - Former MSU football player Ashton Leggett learned his punishment for his part in a fight at MSU's Rather Hall last November. Leggett was sentenced to 18-months of probation and 150 hours of community service in an East Lansing Court Wednesday morning. He also must pay over $1,000 in fines. Leggett had pleaded guilty to two counts of misdemeanor assault and battery. Leggett is the third of 11 MSU football players who have pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault charges.
The judge is allowing Leggett, who turns 21-years-old, to complete his probation under the Youthful Training Act. If he successfully completes his probation, his criminal record will be cleared.
Leggett, a running back, has transferred to Illinois State University and is on the football team there.
