The "You Drink and Drive. You lose." campaign is a federally funded initiative that allows police to have more officers and troopers out on the roads to specifically target drunken drivers.
Sgt. McGaffigan of Jackson's Michigan State Police says officers will be looking for motorists that may be weaving in and out of their lanes or not coming to a complete stop at stop signs.
They say the program, along with heightened awareness and the fact the drinking and driving is no longer considered to be socially acceptable, has helped to reduce the number of alcohol-related accidents.
