A Livingston County man faces charges after authorities say he backed his pickup truck over his wife during a dispute.

Terry Hovis was arraigned on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and operating a vehicle under the influence.

Police say the 44-year-old was involved in a domestic dispute Tuesday and had taken the prescription narcotic OxyContin. When he attempted to leave, his wife stood behind him and blocked his truck.

Police say he then backed up and pinned her underneath. Neighbors used a jack to free her.

The woman was taken to a local hospital and released yesterday.

Her husband remains lodge in the county jail.

Again , drugs and abuse related. How much do people have to endure. This happens in every state and is worse with the weak man abusing a strong woman- does man find strength in using drugs, vehicles and weapons against women? , it does prove the woman is stronger mentally than the male, however.
