Jurors are back at the federal courthouse for the first full day of deliberations in the corruption trial of a political consultant who worked for Monica Conyers at the Detroit City Council.
Jurors returned around 9 a.m. Tuesday, a day after hearing closing arguments in the government's case against Sam Riddle.
Riddle is accused of conspiring with Conyers when she was a council member to extort bribes from people with business at city hall or Detroit's pension board in 2006 and 2007. He says he had a legitimate consulting business.
Riddle criticized his lawyers on Twitter Monday night. Asked about it Tuesday, he says "Twitter speaks for itself."
Conyers, the wife of Detroit congressman John Conyers, pleaded guilty last summer to conspiracy.
