A mother battling cancer kills her Down Syndrome daughter then turns the shotgun on herself. That is according to the Clinton County Sheriff's Department.
It appears Glee Bengel, 61, feared she would die and no one would be around to take care of her daughter April, 24, who had Down Syndrome.
Someone setting an animal trap found Glee Tuesday night. She was lying in the backyard, a shotgun near her. Investigators found April in her own bedroom shot multiple times. They lived in Essex Township which is near St. Johns.
Family members declined to comment saying Glee wanted no pictures released, no statements made, just privacy.
