The population explosion began Wednesday in East Lansing, as more than 6,000 freshmen and transfer students invaded the campus of Michigan State University.
New students will attend a variety of sessions and workshops to help them get acclimated to campus and get acquainted with their new Spartan peers.
Returning students will move into the halls on Thursday.
This year, MSU ha increased tuition by 8.5 percent, meaning in-state freshmen and sophomores will have to pay $179.75 per credit hour. Out-of-state freshmen and sophomores will have to pay $482.00 per credit hour.
Classes begin on Monday, Aug. 26.
