The Okemos Education Foundation is embarking its second year of its "Okemos Cares" Campaign, but some at the campaign are concerned there could be donor apathy.
Mark Bashore, a Trustee for the organization, expressed concern that potential donors may continually hear about a deficit in the school budget and develop apathy towards the problem.
Last year the group raised $236,000.
The campaign is designed to help the school district make ends meet when it comes to a diminishing budget due to a decease in state funding.
While Bashore hopes for the same kind of success as last year, he says any funds are considered improvement over the current budget status.
