Targeting Epilepsy

Right now, doctors and neurologists alike are using standard brain maps to pinpoint where epileptic seizures come from. However, some experts say that could be dangerous, especially for children.

That's why some doctors have decided to use a military targeting program designed for the medical practitioner. It samples parts of the brain the same way radar detects little blips.

The computer software looks for electrical impulses from the brain, excluding the ones coming from the seizure center. Those parts are seen in yellow.

Doctors say it's about two to three times more accurate than standards tests.
