LANSING - It was a terrifying night for two young Lansing women, after gun-wielding thieves kick their way into the young women's apartment. Lansing police tell News 10 that the two women, ages 24 and 26, were in their home at about 8:30 Sunday night in the 3100 block of Beau Jardin Drive when the door was busted open. Three men, one with a handgun, ran inside, struck the 26-year-old woman in the head with the gun, and began ransacking the apartment. They were able to get away with numerous items.
While police were using dogs to attempt to track the thieves, a witness told the officers that they saw three men run into a nearby apartment in the 2800 block of East Jolly Road. As officers approached the apartment they heard a conversation that implicated the occupants in the robbery and assault. Officers made contact with three men and a 20-year-old woman, inside the apartment. There police say they found evidence linking the four to the crime. All four were arrested and are expected to be arraigned Monday afternoon.
The 26-year-old woman who was pistol-whipped received a large laceration to the head. She was taken to the hospital for treatment, but has since been released.
