Benson, who also goes by the name Arthur Richardson, called Lansing Police Saturday to tell them he would be on a Greyhound bus coming from Detroit, and they could meet him at the Lansing bus station.
Police did just that and took Benson into custody around 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
According to police, Benson is a suspect in the Thursday night shooting of Micahel Jerome James outside the Save-On Market on West Willow in Lansing.
Police say James was able to identify Benson as his attacker before he died.
