Michigan Dems Pull Plug on iPod Idea

State House Democrats say they have no plans to provide iPods for Michigan students.

The statement Thursday is aimed at ending a controversy stemming from a concept first discussed by Democrats last week.

Democrats said the idea had been misconstrued and was unfairly overshadowing the state's budget crisis.

Three Democratic lawmakers who made a trip to Apple headquarters earlier this year said they will pay for the trip out of their own pockets.

Democrats say they will continue to push for better technology in Michigan classrooms, however.
