A 31-year-old St. Clair County man is in jail on charges of killing his infant daughter in 2003.
State troopers picked up Anthony Rizzo yesterday as he walked out of a gas station in Macomb County.
Rizzo stood mute in court in Romeo and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf for murder, manslaughter and child abuse charges.
The Oakland County medical examiner says Kala Kacarka of Algonac died from blunt force head trauma. Macomb County's ME looked at the autopsy findings and says more police work in recent months turned up enough evidence to move forward with an arrest.
Rizzo and Kacarka's mother were with the child in July 2003 when she began having breathing problems. The eleven month old died at a Detroit hospital.
