Detroit police have released the name of a 19-year-old Michigan State University student who died after being dragged by a tour bus following a Detroit Red Wings hockey game.
Police say Ryan Rosman of Oakland County's West Bloomfield Township died Thursday night.
The death initially was reported as a hit-and-run. But police spokesman John Roach told the Detroit Free Press on Saturday that friends told police Rosman was hiding under the tour bus when it drove away.
Roach tells The Detroit News police don't know why Rosman was under the bus.
Roach said the death was being viewed as "strictly accidental."
Police say a large number of Michigan State students attended the game. Detroit defeated the San Jose Sharks 2-1.
