"I just got vaccinated!" Maurice Ash of Lansing was beyond excited to get the H1N1 vaccine today. Many children, however, did not share his enthusiasm.

Today hundreds of families with their young children poured into the Hill Career Academy gymnasium to be screened and vaccinated.

Renee Branch Canday, a deputy officer for the Ingham County Health Department said more vaccine has become available causing them to broaden the restrictions for eligibility just slightly.

"We're still not at a place where we can vaccinate everyone in our county which is ideally what we'd like to do," said Branch Canady.

Today the priority expanded to include children aged six months to nine years of age.
Six year old Tarrianna Pirtle came to the clinic with her parents with a purpose.

"I'm getting my shot because if I don't get my flu shot then I'm not going to be feeling very good."

If you do not fall within the current categories the health department urges people to use good hygiene techniques by washing hands often and coughing or sneezing into a tissue or arm.

Branch Canady said by the end of this month or early December there should be enough vaccine to further broaden the requirments.
