A court ruling today forces local stores to no longer stock or sell the diet supplement Ephedra.
Ephedra is described as a stimulant to help with appetite control and energy levels.
Some local retailers say the remaining bottles will be shipped back to suppliers.
Published reports claim Ephedra is linked to 155 deaths.
Supplement stores say the ban will not affect overall diet sales claiming that there are several substitutes using caffeine stimulates to copy the Ephedra effects without the harmful side effects.
