Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth says family members of two 13-year-old skateborders killed last year by a drunken driver misidentified their bodies after the accident.

He told the Lansing State Journal that he would describe it as as a colossal error the the part of some grieving families.

Wrigglesworth and the county prosecutor's office were scheduled to announce Wenesday the results of a seven-week investigation which showed that family members' identifications led to Thomas Schneider being buried if friend Kyle Karp's grave.

The county's investigation began after authorities exhumed Thomas' body from Kyle's grave on May 16. The boys were killed April 6, 2001.
