Health care coverage and how much money employees will contribute to it was the issue preventing an earlier agreement on a four year contract, but late Friday night a deal was made.

Nurses, blood technicians, lab employees and distributors at the Red Cross' Regional Blood Center in Lanisng had threatened to strike if nothing was resolved by midnight. Since a tentative agreement was reached, employees will report to work on Monday as scheduled.

No exact details about the agreement are being released at this time, but Fred Sterns, Red Cross Regional CEO, says all issues have been settled. Sterns says there were a lot of changes in the contract that were acceptable by both sides. A vote to ratify the tentative agreement will be held in a couple of weeks.
