For the third time in 10 years, the Spartans will play on St. Patrick's Day.
Bars open early, some around 7 a.m.

Some, like The Peanut Barrel, are opening a little later, at their regular time. Assistant Manager Rod Shepherd says they will open at 11 a.m.

Spartans Against Drunk Driving, a new student organization promoting responsible drinking, is handing out free t-shirts for sober, designated drivers. You cash in a coupon, which can be found in Thursday or Friday's edition of "The State News", hand it in at participating East Lansing locations (select bars and restaurants), wear it on Saturday and receive free non-alcoholic drinks, food and other giveaways.

East Lansing Police say they will have extra staff on patrol both in cars and on foot.
