To help move the community forward, a new set of objectives is developed and released every two years. This year, City Manager Ted Staton says he's most proud of how East Lansing is protecting neighborhoods by stopping the conversion of single family homes from owner occupied property to renter occupied property. The City Center Project and business development is also included in the long list of accomplishments.

East Lansing lost more than $1 million in revenue sharing and other state money as part of Michigan's budget shortfalls. Staton says it's been challenging, but the future looks good. East Lansing residents will receive a full list of the city's goals for the future and report results. The report is being mailed out this week.
