In Jackson, a 12-year-old girl is sent to Foote Hospital and another 12-year-old girl spends time in Jackson Police custody. All this after a stabbing at the Middle School at Parkside.

Jackson Police say two seventh graders were arguing on a school bus on their way to school. The fight then escalated indoors, with one girl stabbing the other twice in the arm with a pair of scissors.

The victim was treated at Foote Hospital for minor injuries. The other girl was taken into custody by Jackson Police and then released to her parents.

The Jackson County Prosecutor says the 12-year-old will be charged with three felony counts, including assault with a dangerous weapon and assault with the intent to do great bodily harm less then murder.

If the charges are proven to be true, school officials say the girl will be expelled.
