A broader smoking ban in Ingham County workplaces went into effect Monday.
The ban targets smoking in government buildings, and common areas of public and private offices, malls, hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities.
Restaurants, bars and bingo halls will not be affected.
The countywide workplace smoking ban is the first of its kind in the state.
