Michigan students statewide began a two-week long task of taking the Michigan Education Assessment program or MEAP test.
The MEAP is the standardized test that measures students' abilities in subjects like math, reading and social science. The MEAP for 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th grades runs through February 13.
For the past two weeks, some students here in mid-Michigan have taken part in MEAP camps to help them prepare for the test.
The experts say studying isn't the only thing important to preparing for the test. They say a good night's sleep and a good breakfast are essential to students succeeding.
