Mid-Michigan Job Market Flat
A survey by Manpower Inc. indicates that 71% of mid-Michigan employers plan to maintain their staffing levels through December.

According to the latest quarterly survey by Manpower Inc. the outlook for employment in mid-Michigan will be stagnant over the next three months. Manpower's Employment Outlook Survey shows that from October to December only 10% of companies surveyed plan to hire more workers. 15% expect to reduce their payrolls. 71% of mid-Michigan employers tell Manpower they expect to maintain their current staffing levels. 4% are uncertain.
The survey indicates that job prospects are best in non-durable goods manufacturing, professional and business services, educational and health services, and leisure and hospitality businesses.
Employers in construction, durable goods manufacturing, transportation and utilities, and government plan to reduce staffing levels. Wholesale and retail trade, information and financial activities expect to remain unchanged.
