Jackson County voters have approved a millage that will pay for a new 240-bed jail.
By approving the millage in Tuesday's election, homeowners increased their property taxes by a half mil, or about $50 a year for every $1,000 their homes are valued.
The new jail facility will be built on property off Elm Road.
