2006 Ends with Michigan Unemployment Rising

State officials say Michigan's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased in December.
The rate in the year's final month was 7-point-1 percent.
The rate in November was 6-point-9 percent.
Michigan had one of the nation's highest jobless rates throughout 2006.
The preliminary average unemployment rate for the state last year was 6-point-8 percent.
The national jobless rate was 4-point-5 percent in December.
