Among the thousands of car lovers at the North American International Auto Show were a group of young boys, eleven to be exact. All a part of Lansing's Wainwright Leadership Academy.

According to sixth grade teacher Jeffrey Champion, "For them to be exposed to the real world of seeing how cars are being manufactured, the end product of cars and seeing cars, the technology behind it hopefully will give them the motivation to be really focused on their careers."

After raising $300, the group of 4th and 6th graders traveled to Detroit Saturday to catch the public opening of the auto show. And while they had fun, they were excited about looking towards their possible future careers in the auto industry.

"A few of them have expressed interest about design, manufacturing. Some even talk about being involved in engineering."

The school group has been visiting the auto show for ten years.
