The latest poll shows state Attorney General Jennifer Granholm leading in the Democratic gubernatorial race.

She faces U.S. Representative David Bonior and former Gov. James Blanchard in Tuesday's primary vote.

Thirty-eight percent of polled Democrats say they will vote for Granholm, compared with 22 percent for Bonior, and 20 percent for Blanchard. Twenty percent were undecided.

Mitchell Research and Communications of East Lansing polled 600 people by telephone Monday through Wednesday. The poll had a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points. It appeared in The Detroit News on Friday.

The Democratic winner faces the winner of Tuesday's Republican primary between Lieutenant Governor Dick Posthumus and state Senator John Schwarz of Battle Creek.

The general election is Nov. 5.
