Thursday the Federal Trade Commission fined the marketers of four major weight loss supplements. Marketers of CortiSlim, TrimSpa, One a Day Weight Smart, and Xenadrine EFX were fined between $1.5 million and $12.8 million for a total of $25 million.
According to the FTC, marketing for the weigh loss pills is false and not backed by scientific evidence. Marketing claims include rapid weight loss and an increased metabolism. While the marketers of the dietary supplements will face fines, the products will remain on store shelves.
