An 11-year-old Eaton County boy was swimming with friends at the Bunker Road Landing when he got his foot tangled in some underbrush and couldn't come up for air.
The boy was swimming with another 11-year-old boy when he disappeared underwater.
A young girl sitting on the shore ran across the street to her home to call for help.
When Eaton County Sheriff's Deputies arrived, they pulled the boy out of the water and began CPR.
The boy was unconscious and was transported to Eaton Rapids Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not released the identity of the boy at the request of his parents.
